On another note, I know very few SB fans actually skate, but I’m compelled to try to get you to watch good skating regardless. This is a short from a trip to Austin and not only features a Matt Beach appearance (where’s he been hiding?!) but also Chet’s crooked arm. The spots look pretty fun, but I have a hard time imagining the skater I know from Austin, Ted Barrow, skating some of these spots. No offense, Sled.

How rad is Brian Anderson’s shirt?! I don’t even think that’s an ironic shirt–it’s probably from Shecks’ t-shirt line. But when worn by BA, you know it’s worn ironically.

I stole it from the best of blogs, the worst of blogs. You’ll not find a better writer (and very few better skateboarders) than Ted “The Sled” Barrow. He’s reprinted some stuff we used to write back when we were snotty, wannabe Parisians. (Well, he lived there then; I was a wannabe, but failed just as miserably at being Parisian shortly after he moved back. The City of Light is a cold place.) Dear God, we were petulant. Ted went on to model for various things like GQ and either Urban Outfitters or Abercrombie (both?), which were always pretty funny, but he wore his shame with pride, and wasn’t afraid to laugh at the ridiculousness of it, nor cash those checks. Who wouldn’t just stand there looking into the distance (or walk down a runway dressed like a clown, for that matter) for an inflated paycheck?
