Two of my favorite entities have teamed up to collaborate on an amazing new shoe. etnies Plus and Ed Banger Records have come together to form their debut collaboration collection called EDNIES.  Originating from their skateboard roots in Paris, Pierre-Andre Senizergues, owner of etnies, and Pedro Winter, owner of Ed Banger, have finally found a way to merge their two greatest passions in life: music and skateboarding. Featuring artwork created by infamous Ed Banger art director So Me, the Busy P and So Me characters can be found on opposing sides of the right and left shoe footbeds. The video above has the guys behind the collab together in New York, discussing how this shoe came to be.

Whether you live and die by the excellence that is the Lakers or sulk in the difficulty of being a Nets fan this season, if you enjoy sneakers, you have to be a bit impressed by the Adidas TS Commander LTs that Tim Duncan has been sporting this season. Considering that the future hall of fame center has never really been known for his flair or flashiness, its amazing that he has stepped up in the style department and thrown on some pretty impressive sneakers. Originally meant as one off kicks for Halloween (custom made to correspond with San Antonio Spurs colors), Duncan seems to be fond of them and has kept them in the rotation.

The Holiday Glide features a quilted textile material, making the shoe a unique addition to any winter wardrobe.  The Glide was originally released in 1979 and is a plush 70s-era basketball reissue with vintage logo and tread details. It features a padded tongue, heel ribs, terry lining and posture foundation insole.

More than 300 people came out to celebrate the launch of the New Balance and Concepts’ Freedom Trail Collection hitting stores on Black Friday. DJs Doo Wop and Brek.One entertained the crowd into the morning while guests enjoyed cocktails and sweets. The Freedom Trail Collection introduces the first ever 875 boot and re-imagines the 1500 sneaker-both in buttery chocolate nubuck and red lace detail. The collection was produced in limited numbers and will only be available at Concepts and select stores around the globe.

This collection cleverly pays homage to Boston and its heritage making a statement about how to stay grounded and represent your home town.

Rockport offered friend and world famous DJ to the stars, DJ Cassidy, the opportunity to design his own pair of the Bridgeport boat shoe.  To create the shoe, Cassidy drew inspiration from his musical and fashion influences, notably Run-DMC and Michael Jackson.  To pay homage to Run-DMC, Cassidy designed a special elastic component under the tongue so that the boat shoe may be worn comfortably without laces and to celebrate Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” legendary video look, the DJ Cassidy Bridgeport boat shoe is constructed of soft pink perforated leather, a red canvas upper, and a black pinstripe.

In honor of the King Of Pop, Rockport has produced 50 limited edition pairs numbered 1–50 to commemorate each year of his life. The exclusive shoe comes packaged in a custom DJ Cassidy shoe box complete with pink tissue paper, red satin bow tie and personalized card from Cassidy detailing his inspirations.

Building upon the strong re-launch of the 455 for spring 2009 comes the fall 2009 update of the 455. Re-introduced for the first time in more than 30 years, the 455 is an original 1979 trail shoe that has been updated with modern materials and sophisticated color blocking.

Designed and manufactured in New Balance’s factory in Flimby, England, the 455 has a three-layer lugged outsole capable of dispersing shock and offering excellent traction–a lot of bells and whistles that stem from the fact that this was an actual award-winning trail shoe more than 30 years ago. The 455 was the trail shoe of its day and today remains a classic.

The 455 features unique perforated meshs, premium suedes and leather detailing for fall 2009 and is available for both men and women in five colorways.

The New Balance 455 collection will be available at Zappos.com, NBwebexpress.com and Classic Kicks out of New York starting July 2009 and will retail between $75.00 and $100.00.
