This is a nice summation of the origins of the newest collaboration between Travis Barker and A-Trak. While the idea of live drums over a DJ set is no new idea, it seems like the goal here is to bring this to a newer generation of dance consumers, using two of the most recognized and respected practitioners of their respective fields. This clip takes you from rehearsal to their back-to-back sold out shows at the Roxy featuring guest performances by Lil’ Jon, Kid Cudi, and Kid Sister.

Following the critical success of his Seinfeld inspired mixtape, “The Mixtape about Nothing”, D.C.-based rapper Wale released his major label debut, “Attention Deficit” in November of last year. While he has performed sporadically here and there, Wale has not embarked on a proper tour, so it’s exciting that he will be bringing his unique take on hip-hop and a steady flow to the Roxy, next Tuesday, February 2nd.

Mike Posner is the 21 year old pop/hip-hop practitioner that has garnered notoriety through mixtape collaborations with the likes of Kid Cudi, Wale, and many others. Shortly after announcing a major label deal with J Records, Posner announced the October release of his 2nd mixtape, “One Foot Out The Door”. In support of this, he is playing a small run of shows across the country including his Oct. 16th stop at the Roxy. His combination of sleek production and youthful energy on stage should make for an entertaining show.
