This anthemic track by Scottish producer, Calvin Harris, has been smashing it for awhile now (as noted by the 2.5 million views and the gold status of the single in the UK). The video just really illustrates to me what so many people imagine nightlife to be and what people walk out the door hoping for, but often times don’t find. There is nothing deep about the video per say, yet for some reason I think it sort of speaks to the type of partying that youth should be about it before real life sets in. Unless, of course you are a superstar DJ, in which case, this is just another Saturday night….

New Balance held their Sonic Collection West Coast Launch party at sneaker boutique Conveyor in Fred Segal in Santa Monica last week.  A special wall was built for the party with a built in theremin, a special antenna-like electronic musical instrument which uses the proximity of a hand to alter the pitch and volume of a pure sine wave.   The theremin added some extra fun and interactive “sonic” component as consumers approached the product shelf.  Aside from the special wall build out and the brand new Sonic Collection for sale, guests enjoyed free appetizers, cocktails, and music from a finely mustachioed DJ which was complemented by the crazy sine waves produced by partygoers dancing by the Sonic wall.  Next time New Balance comes to your neighborhood with an instore party, it should not be missed!

More than 300 people came out to celebrate the launch of the New Balance and Concepts’ Freedom Trail Collection hitting stores on Black Friday. DJs Doo Wop and Brek.One entertained the crowd into the morning while guests enjoyed cocktails and sweets. The Freedom Trail Collection introduces the first ever 875 boot and re-imagines the 1500 sneaker-both in buttery chocolate nubuck and red lace detail. The collection was produced in limited numbers and will only be available at Concepts and select stores around the globe.

This collection cleverly pays homage to Boston and its heritage making a statement about how to stay grounded and represent your home town.
