New street apparel brand, Dearly Departed gives us a look into an upcoming collaborative effort with Arizona boutique, Highpoint Shoes. The fitted features a unique barrage of both parties logos in metallic thread applications, intertwined with each other and a “Family First” rear-hit rounds it all off . This limited release will only drop at Highpoint (they take phone orders) in the next coming weeks. Stay tuned for more heat from both camps this season.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje aka Heavy Duty of G.I. Joe showcases the lid

New Era showcased their upcoming Snake Eyes 59Fifty Lid at Comic Con San Diego at the Wired Cafe event.

Stars at the event included Zachary Quinto, Brea Grant, Kevin Sorbo, Robert Englund, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (pictured) with the signature lid.

Adewale, who plays Heavy Duty in the upcoming G.I. Joe, of course jokingly wondered where the “Heavy Duty” hat was.

Tradition is back with another collaboration with New Era. The hats are once again designed by Mr.Cartoon and SA Studios, and the colorways are based upon some of the best teams from L.A. These hats release this Saturday, and are limited to only 36 pieces per color! Detailed pics after the jump.

What’s happening?
Nothing much, just trying to power through everything right now. There’s so many contests going on and I’m working on my video part for Globe as well.

Yeah I know your schedule has been hectic! You’ve got the stuff with Lil Jon, and the BME Click, and the new stuff going on with Oakley, too. Plus I know you rolled wih Teddy Pinderassdown (T-Pain) the other day at the Oakley party.
That all came about because of my relationship with Oakley. I’ve been on the team for a while now and so has Lil Jon and some of the best snowboarders and moto dudes. Jon just really wanted to do something different with everyone and brought us onto his gig. He actually skates and snowboards, not at the pro level of course but he’s down, and just into skating and things. It was his opportunity to support skating to try to put us on an even bigger platform than just skating would alone. Sometimes we don’t really think about it, but there are a lot of people who are supportive of skating even if they don’t do it themselves or not that often. This helps bridge that gap and lets new people check out skating.

Well to give Lil Jon some more validity in the skate world, I heard that Lil Jon used to roll with Andy Howell and Johnny Schillereff from Element. I guess they used to be in a hip hop group together. That blew my mind.
Yeah, he’s just down and wanted to do something cool with everybody. We even shot new footage for the website and everything, too.

Yeah, it’s up now and we are getting up new content all the time, I’ve just been hitting everything this year and it’s been a whirlwind.

I know you, have been working hard. The weekend when we were shooting you went and won Globe’s Slaughter at the Opera, then turned around and won the Tampa Pro as well. There are only a handful of skaters who can kill it on street for real and then go kill it in a contest.
Thanks, brother, for me skating is just skating. I’m down to do it whenever, wherever, with whomever. I love skating that much and in a public forum it just lets more people see it.

Tradition is set to release these two limited New Era 59 Fifties this Saturday, October 4th. A mere 10 miles away from the heart of Hollywood lies the Encino Velodrome. For 45 years, the concrete racing track has played host to cycling’s version of the horse races (you best be gambling), including the 1965 US National Championships, the 1968 US National Championships and US Olympic Trials, and the 1972 and 1973 Grand Prix of the United States. The Encino Velodrome Association is a nonprofit organization that manages the educational and competition programs at the velodrome.

So next time you find yourself leaning on your track bike as you camp out in front of Supreme, consider heading out to Encino, the heart of the San Fernando Valley and the home of the Karate Kid! If you think camping in H-Wood is rugged, try riding a bike in the Valley in the summer!

The Encino Velodrome also offers a comprehensive training schedule five days a week, including time trials, Madison practice, and even Keirin training. With a minimal track usage fee of only $7, you really have no excuses. Yeah, you might not look that cool with the required helmet, but you will have a lot of fun… You might even learn something in the process.
