Legacy is sure to make a lasting impression; it’s one of the most unique stores to open in awhile. As with anything original, there are sure to be a few biters, but good luck with that. Legacy concentrates on limited looks, but deliver them with a style all their own. In 2006 the owners of BecomeFitted.com started planning for their first brick and mortar store. Since the owners are long-time collectors of BMX bikes and memorabilia, they incorporated their passion into their store’s design. The Legacy crew fabricated one-off bicycle clothing racks and custom-made Alder cabinetry to set the stage. The store contains a revolving collection that includes some of the most rare BMX bikes and memorabilia from the ’70s and ’80s. Legacy’s museum-style decor compliments the exclusive gear they offer from brands like 3Sixteen, Akomplice, Brixton, Black Scale, Diamond Supply, Dissizit, Elm Company, Estate LA, GrnAppleTree, Huf, Mighty Healthy, Mishka, Official, SSUR and Upper Playground. There are some big things on the horizon at Legacy, so be on the lookout for some Legacy Brand retro BMX parts and soft goods. They’ve also teamed up with Estate LA for a limited production 24” retro cruiser. So if you’re sick and tired of that LA traffic when you’re shopping for the latest, get on your bike and head to the beach.
