Envision the presence of a guitar and replacing it with a ukulele to write songs.  The substitution of the instruments would play an immense role in the creative process.  From a child growing up in the countryside of Sussex, England to a rising eclectic pop artist, Sophie Madeleine carries her gifts with ease to the top.  She began songwriting (in secret) at the relatively mature age of 16.  Writing was more of outlet for therapeutic reflection versus a possible way of making a living.  And then singing for the pleasure of others didn’t present itself for a few years after that.  But eventually, someone expressed their interest in hearing her sing.  “I think somebody said something along the lines of, ‘Hey, that’s not too bad,’ so I thought I’d give it a go,” said the 25-year-old from Brighton, England.  Her first official solo record, Love. Life. Ukulele is presently being independently released.  It has received an incredible amount of feedback and is skyrocketing her name into the spotlight.  She has a MA in songwriting under her belt as well, studying music at university.  “The experience and facilities gave me the ability to record my album, plus ‘Master of Song’ is a nice title to have.”  Inspired by the popular music of the last century with the ingredients of folk near by, Sophie continues to cook up more songs, in hopes of recording her sophomore record this summer.  She also aims to tour with her new band, which is in full rehearsal.  Love. Life. Ukulele will be pressed onto vinyl and sold as a very limited edition and will be featured on her Bandcamp site in the near future.  As for now, the blissful tones and genuinely ear-pleasing melodies of this pop-folk sensation will continue to reach more ears and gain more fans.
