There is a new tour mode that allows you to advance your band’s career either online or off, and you can hire crew members to help you out along the way. Uh, OK. Really, none of this matters. It’s not about features or gameplay. It’s about the experience. Rock Band 2 is great. Here’s why.
My buddy had a surprise birthday party, and I have to say, it was a bit of a drag. No one really seemed to be feeling it. Too many people eating chicken wings and crabcake crostinis (yeah, I like them, what?), and not nearly enough drinking. Shit was lame.
Flash forward to 12:30. Rock Band is in full effect, and the living room is packed with suddenly hammered girls clamoring to sing, with me playing the drums, and I’m playing them well. The drummer always gets laid, my friend, even when he’s playing fake drums. I also sang “Eye of the Tiger” and it was awesome.
Pretty soon the cops came. We were playing video games and someone called the police on us. If that isn’t reason enough to get Rock Band 2, then I got nothing for ya, man.
