I know I’ve been 80s-centric thus far in the column, but there are so many gems from this era that can’t go without mention. It was the birth of the music video medium, and everyone was experimenting. No one knew where the ship was going or that it would turn into a viable industry. Back then, directing videos wasn’t a career aspiration, it was slumming it.
