I’m sure people don’t even know you still skate with your same crew from Milwaukee right?
Pretty much. My boys just save up their bread and come out to visit and we party and skate the same as if we were back home.
Except your living a little better now right? You don’t have to share your package so crazy.
Yeah, things are much better now, but I had a great time all the way up to this point, too. All my sponsors in the old days helped me out as much as they could then, too. Always, made love goes to Al Partanen for bringing me into the game.
Speaking of living life right, Good Livin’ is the name of your new deal with Oakley, right?
I’m really excited about that collab between Oakley, New Era and myself. Almost even put out a limited edition board for the project as well, so I’m super stoked about that, too. Oakley is backing me really hard with this and let me create a signature line. There are Lutzka shades, New Era has made a slamming New Era Fedora for me, two new regular New Era caps, and signature laces.
You also had a new sneaker drop for Globe. How was the designing process?
That was a big deal for me, and a lot goes into in testing, designing and colorways. A lot more than what I initially thought. I want to give props to Marty and Colin over at Globe because they helped me get it done and sped up my learning curve. I’m stoked on it. Plus it’s got some good color hits, so I think it’s going to do well.
And what’s this I’m hearing about a crazy new high-top?
Well, we are planning the next one to be killer, just something functional to skate in, but on some streetwear steez. It’s gonna be mind blowing and it’s gonna not be what anyone expects.
Any last shout outs?
Of course, thanks to Almost, Globe, Oakley and New Era, Indy, Monster, Kicker, FKD, Mob and Ricta, and Sun Diego and Toyota, too. The most important thanks goes to my family, friends all the skaters who support me. Talk to you later.
