It’s always refreshing to see musicians stretch themselves as artists and step outside the periphery of routine and normalcy. For Daedelus, his manipulation of sound and obscure musical arrangement places him within this family. Through the years, Daedelus has established a name in Los Angeles, adorning himself in Victorian garb and showcasing a disjointed image of music. With a quirky, yet sincere affection for his art, Daedelus does not hold back, evoking emotions that one might never expect to surface.  In his latest album, Love to Make Music To, Daedelus flirts with nostalgic rave renditions. In doing so, he toys with an amalgamation of soft ballads, spunky hip-hop, vintage techno and vocals that give true meaning to the term chameleon. Like any ex-raver would attest, the album channels a depth and familiarity unknown to those too afraid, too boring (or too young) to partake in the rave culture. Although Love to Make Music To is reminiscent of a time where rave kids used phrases like “happy hardcore” and “candy flipping,” the album speaks to the gentler side of rave-goers. After all, when a rave comes to a close, and the dark breaks and the heavy trebles subside, the sun rises, the car ride home is accompanied by tracks much like “My Beau” and “I Car(Ry) Us” that literally carry one home, safely back into reality.
