If you don’t know Tim O’Connor, then I pity you. He’s an innovative skater (not living in Cali is novel) and a funny-ass dude (the Vice TV episode above is proof) and in Miami I once watched him walk up to the front and then walk over a Ferrari F50, about a million dollar car, that was in his path. He crackled something on the back before he casually stepped off the Ferrari’s spoiler like he was stepping off a subway train. He didn’t even play it up. It was all very casual, and quite a beautiful act of anti-capitalist vandalism. Because he’s also an artiste. No.
He sent me a nice email the other day, which made me happy, since I’ve always been a fan of Tim and his skating. Hopefully he’ll write something funny for the next issue of Vapors.
“What’s up Pat….
Long ass motha’ fuckin’ time no motha’ fuckin’ see your life on this goddamn planet! Rob Brink just forwarded an email to me about me possibly writing something for Vapors which I’m going to assume you work for.
Well I don’t know shit about Vapors really and I did actually see a copy of it in the KCDC skateshop in Brooklyn yesterday but I didn’t get a chance to flip through it. Maybe I’ll got to Barnes and Noble or something like that and try to take a gander at an issue or two.
What the hell would you want me to do? I might possibly be down to write some stuff if it sounds like a tasty decision. Okay I guess that’s it for this virtual mailing. Over and out for now amigo.
Tim O’Connor”
