HMNI - DJ Tina T

Hello my name is…
DJ Tina T.

I was raised in…
Seattle, Washington.

And the reason that you’re reading about me is…
Because you might see me DJ at some point and I just wanted to introduce myself ☺.

I am inspired by…
People, music, movies, basically everything around me—good and bad.

Music is my…
Drug of choice.

My preferred musical format is…
MP3 on turntables via Serato.

When I hear “the classics,” I think of…
Eazy-E, “Boyz in the Hood”; Run-DMC “It’s Tricky”; Eric B. & Rakim, “Paid in Full”; Herbie Hancock, “Rock It”; Sir Mixalot, “Posse on Broadway.”

Right now I’m working on…
An East vs. West promo mixtape for LRG Clothing. I’m learning some music production programs and also doing video editing. Just trying to build up ammo, y’know.

But I’d rather be…
On a stakeout! I’m waiting for the perfect opportunity. Donuts, coffee…It’s ON!

I love it when…
A packed club has their hands in the air screaming.

I hate it when…
The lights come on and the drunkies bug me to play another song.

The best piece of advice I’ve received was…
Move to LA!

If you ever see me walking down the street…
Stop to say what’s up! Give me your email address so we can keep in touch.

On the road I usually end up eating…
Mostly recovery foods, lots of water, fruit, bagels, smoothies. Anything that I think will help my hangover at the time.

My favorite delivery is…
Usually from Etnies or LRG; I’m getting excited just thinking about it. I love new clothes.

If I had to say sorry it would be because I…
Didn’t respond to you on MySpace. Sorry!

In the next six months I plan to…
Figure out what I’m going to do with my life in six months.

And in five years…
I’ll be hitting my prime, settling in somewhere in the world. Maybe a husband if I’m lucky, but I’ll settle for a boyfriend.

Big ups to…
The most kick-ass crew of DJs that I have grown to love in LA: Bakdraft, Steve1der, Spider, AM, Steve Aoki, Spryte, Wicked, Splyce, Stonerokk, Graham Funke, Kevin Scott, Cobra, Ammo, Edski, Mike B, Dini, Eric Dlux, Choc, Revolution, Hapa and Goldfingers. I’m lucky to have been able to surround myself with people that are just as geeked out on DJing as I am!
